A little secret about free apps

I am excited that Andrea and I will be sharing some great ideas about using apps and mobile devices in the next two weeks. Between the upcoming new version of ANGEL (Safari = OK) and our investigation of a successor to ANGEL, we agree that mobile apps and mobile devices will be playing growing roles in our online classrooms.
With that in mind, let me share a link on a very short Scientific American article regarding hidden truths about free apps.

Tech Tools for Interactivity

I attended this webinar, Tech Tools for Interactivity, and came away with a number of great links to investigate. You can view the entire presentation in the Classroom 2.0 archives. The audio is not good but the content is excellent.

Additionally, I was surprised by the presenter. Andora Svitak is a 12 year old who is the youngest person to be featured in a Ted Talk (later this year). You might want to attend the webinar just to get the viewpoint of this young presenter.

Free 2-day Conference in Overland Park, KS

Colleague to Colleague (C2C) annually sponsors the free 2-day Summer Institute of Distance Learning and Instructional Technology (SIDLIT). The Institute enables faculty and staff involved in instructional technology to share expertise on a "colleague to colleague" basis.
The 10th Annual SIDLIT will be held on Thursday and Friday, July 30 - 31, 2008 at JCCC in Overland Park, KS.

Conference Registration ends on July 17, 2009.
