Have you wondered what we mean when we say we strive to get our online courses to be Quality Matters courses? If so, you should check out Butler's QM site! This site discusses the Quality Matter standards and provides examples of how you can add things to your online or blended courses to make them meet these QM standards. Butler Online has created a number of things, such as the Click Here to Begin folder, that already meet certain standards and are easy ways for you to start down the path of making your online or blended course a Quality Matters course.

.Normally I choose podcasts for entertainment, but I have found several ones that are kept updated that are targeted to online teaching. Eric Wignall writes the On Teaching Online blog and hosts a podcast by the same name. The episodes, about 35-40 minutes in length, feature interviews with online teaching professionals (yes, some of them are probably pushing their latest book). Topics include Quality Matters, Google, Moodle, mostly with a strong instructional design as well as technology bent

How will you Grade my Work?

I wanted to share a resource I started providing for my students this semester (see the table below). I did this initially to address QM Standards but have really been surprised at the positive student response.  In a general "How is it Going?" survey 85% of students mentioned in the additional comments question how much they like this tool. When I forgot to add it one week I received several emails asking for it.
