Delicious to Continue Service

I mentioned in a previous post that it had been rumored that the Delicious bookmarking site was going to close within a few months. It appears that this is not the case. Delicious has been acquired by the founders of YouTube, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen and will continue to be available.

Delicious is Closing - Transfer your Bookmarks

News that Delicious, the social bookmarking service, is closing due to Yahoo's scale back has been widely posted on the internet. Although not yet announced publicly, Yahoo announced internally yesterday that Delicious is closing.

If you have bookmarks in Delicious that you want to preserve you will want to transfer them to another social bookmarking site. I, personally, like Diigo due to the fact that it has an education component and its ease of use. Check out the instructions to Transfer your Bookmarks from Delicious to Diigo in Five Minutes . The first step requires that you create a Diigo account if you do not already have one.
