Effective online discussions

I believe that online discussions can be a powerful tool for communication AND learning. They can be tricky though - the right type of question, the expectations, the timing all play into a dynamic learning experience.

This blog post from a dynamic instructional designer, Debbie Morrison provides a number of strategies for instructors and tips for students for engaging in online discussions. She hits on some key weaknesses with constructive criticism without a lot of jargon.
