OK, we use ANGEL at Butler and we are not happy that Blackboard bought them out. That said, I added this video to provide a glimpse of the students who will be entering institutions of higher learning in a few years. Are we ready?!

Which is Greener
The article, "Which is Greener: Paper or Digital: the Answer May Surprise you", posted Jan. 14, 2010 on ZDNet caused me to reconsider, or at least consider in another light, the green debate.

Business Leaders Hail President of Butler College
Be sure to read Business Leaders Hail President of Butler College, an article in the Feb. 16th Wichita Eagle. It will make you understand how fortunate Butler Community College is to have Dr. Jackie Vietti at the helm.
"Brian Black, the corporate public affairs manager for Spirit Aerosystems, said Vietti is so respected at his company that she's one of the few people for whom Spirit CEO Jeff Turner will rearrange his heavily booked schedule on short notice to take her call or speak to a group she's brought there.
"Butler is very important to us, and she is amazing," Black said.
"She's very well respected, by everybody from our CEO to our talent management organization."

Dropbox Goes Mobile
This post refers to one I originally made on July 23, 2009: Sync all your Computers and Files with Dropbox . Now, not only can you open and work on your files on any computer using Dropbox.com, you can also access the files on your iPhone or iPod Touch. I received the following email explaining the service:

Google Wonder Wheel for Research
Have you used Google's Wonder Wheel search feature? It is an interesting way to search the net. The first video below explains Wonder Wheel, and how to access and use it.
The second video is more applicable to us as educators. The presenter offers some thought provoking reasons for the use of Wonder Wheel, and excellent points for designing assessment tasks that challenge students while impeding "cut and paste" papers.

Google Wave Invites
I posted earlier about Google Wave. This post is to inform you that Jonathan Wylie is offering Google Wave Invites on Classroom 2.0. His initial post is:

Anyway, the long and short of this is, I have 8 Google Wave invites if anyone is interested. Reply with an email address, or add me as a colleague and message me your email if you are interested. First come first served. I only have 8 invites.
